Our Legacy

A Legacy of Impactful Work

Early Foundations (1953–1985)
Founded in 1953 as Kusano Steel Recreation Company Ltd. in Nagoya, Kyokutoh began its journey with a focus on craftsmanship and precision engineering. By the late 1960s, the company expanded into the production of arc welding tips and nozzles for Toyota Motor Corporation, setting the foundation for its role in the Japanese automotive industry. The 1980s marked rapid progress — Kyokutoh introduced electrode and guide pin manufacturing and relocated production to the Ueda Plant, officially becoming KYOKUTOH CO., LTD. By 1985, the organization launched its first auto tip dresser, paving the way for modern automated welding solutions.

Growth and Innovation (1990–2007)
The 1990s and early 2000s were defining years for Kyokutoh as the company expanded its presence, technologies, and product portfolio. New sales offices opened across Japan, and automated tip changers entered mass production. By 1999, Kyokutoh achieved ISO9001 certification, reinforcing its commitment to global quality standards. As the decade unfolded, the company established operations in the United States, Korea, and China, representing its shift toward international expansion. Between 2003 and 2007, Kyokutoh completed new headquarters, founded new subsidiaries abroad, and consolidated regional offices into a centralized Kanto Office.
A Modern Global Presence (2008–2022)
Kyokutoh's global footprint strengthened further after 2008 with new operations in Europe, China, Thailand, and India. Manufacturing capabilities expanded with new plants and upgraded facilities, while regional offices worldwide grew to support multinational clients. Major milestones such as the completion of modern factories, the establishment of European branches, and the founding of KYOKUTOH WELD INDIA in 2019 underscore the company's continued growth. Today, Kyokutoh stands as a global leader in welding technology, driven by innovation and a legacy of excellence built over seven decades.
Building upon this decades-long legacy, we continue stepping into the next century with innovation, precision, and a vision for a brighter industrial future.
